Rick, "Ricky Boy"
or SlikRic
When people ask me how long I've been involved in fitness for, I usually say forever.
From birth on I was raised to be healthy and athletic. Both of my parents were vegetarians and I was brought up eating only natural, organic foods. I grew up participating in many different outdoor activities, sports teams and martial art disciplines.
I feel I was born with some talent but mostly developed my skills from my work ethic and from hard training. From a young age I learned that motivation is only temporary. It is important and gets you going, but discipline is what keeps you going. Self-disipline was ingrained in me since I was a young boy. Self-discipline is the only lasting discipline.
The artist behind the scenes, Rick is the director of photography, camera man and editor, he often jumps out from behind the camera to get his sets in.
Rick is what we call a hybrid. He is a rock climber, kickboxer, cyclist and traceur to name a few things. Rick has competed in many different athletic competitions and since starting his training with the Bar-barians he says his athleticism has increased immensely and has found a deep passion for this style of training.
Most recently Rick has been training for Sasuke in Japan, which is the world's toughest obstacle course. His bodyweight training will definitely pay off.
Rick is also a Martial Arts Instructor, Athlete, Trainer and Coach in Manhattan. For more information about Rick: click here
